Attending a technical school to obtain an LPN and work as a nurse is a good option for many reasons. The primary reason one may attend Willoughby is for the low cost and convenient program options. Also, attending Willoughby Tech will ultimately cost less than attending a nursing school with a bachelor's nursing program.
Willoughby Technical school maintains that there is a growing shortage of nurses and by 2020 there will be over 750,000 unfilled nursing positions. This is a believable statistic with our ever aging population.
Willoughby-Eastlake School of Practical Nursing launched their adult nursing program in the 1960’s. The school has enough space for 75 students in their program and they tout a pass rate of 98% on the NCLEX-PN Exam, the licensure exam for practical nurses.
This nursing school is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing, The Ohio Dep. of Education, The Board of Regents and they are accredited by North Central Association for continued school improvement.
Nursing Program - Weekday Only
This program is a weekday program only. There are no options to go at night or on the weekend..
Students can apply for federal student aid and student loans. Current FASFA required.
And like most nursing schools in the nation, you must pass a criminal background check to be accepted and you can't be a pill abuser.
One year of education and you can get your LPN and be working as a nurse.
If you haven't yet applied to nursing school and are wanting some tips on preparing for acceptance, the nurse in the following video gives some great advice and tips on pre nursing activities.
